Interesting facts about the resort
The Little St Bernard Pass is a route that goes through the Alps and is believed to be a route that Carthaginian General Hannibal passed through. Its highest point is 2188 m above sea level making it one of the highest paved roads in Europe and is said to be where a ceremonial site from the Iron Age once stood.
Reasons why skiers choose La Rosiere
This perfectly pleasant resort is one of the only French ski resorts to offer heli-skiing, a way in which to access fresh snow and off-piste terrain for a more natural skiing experience. Facing South, this resort catches plenty of sun and provides beautiful views over some of the most famous peaks in Europe, including the highest peak in the EU; Mont Blanc. If that's still not enough, this resort also offers ski-kiting, where skiers are pulled across flat terrain by the power of wind.
Families and activities
This pretty village caters well for everyone, making it the ideal destination for a family skiing holiday. It has bars restaurants, private nanny services and more. For beginner skiers, it offers 3 nursery areas and for the most extreme daredevils it offers La Thuile's piste 3; a slope which is host to the European Cup Downhill Competitions. A small section of the piste dives at up to 73% gradient.
