In terms of expert skiing holidays in Austria the opportunities for off-piste runs are endless. One of the only ski resorts in the world that lists it's off-piste runs as well as it's pisted runs, this really is a haven for off-piste skiing. With some of the best runs, facilities and picturesque scenery, Lech is truly an ideal last minute cheap ski holiday destination.
There is a snowboard park in Lech (a new Swatch Boarderland opened there in 1998 incorporating Boardercross with 360, Air Park, Half Pipe, Quarter Pipe and Fun Park with fun boxes and slides. The Boarderland also incorporates a Pro-Jump, Jump and an Inverted Jump.)

Zürs has an adequate selection of après ski spots for all but the most hedonistic (who can head off to Lech or even all-night-party-heaven St Anton if they need to). Most of the choices have a cosmopolitan air, in
keeping with Zürs clientele and most are part of the large hotels, such as the Vernissage bar gallery or the piano bar in the Alpenhof.
Having a cocktail in the Rüfilbahn II cable car ascent is an experience not to be missed and if you're on the invitation list there are plenty evening balls and gala dinners to attend. The most popular discothèque is the Zürserl in the Sporthotel Edelweis, locally renowned as THE Arlberg nightspot. It's easy to get down to Lech and its wider range of après ski options and then use either the excellent ski bus service or the shared 'James' taxi service to get back to Zürs throughout the day or evening. Of course there are normal taxis available too.
One popular evening treat, available until 10pm, is to take the Oberlech cable car to the top and then toboggan down to Lech on the floodlit run.
Because Zürs has such a limited, discerning clientele there is not the mass-market requirement for public facilities that there is in other resorts. Many of the hotels have a vast array of sports facilities such as indoor pools and tennis. What is on offer includes indoor golf and squash at the Enzian hotel. Massages are available in the hotels Albona Nova and Enzian. The resort is connected to Cable TV, offering about 20 channels in most international languages.
There is a winter walking track of about four kilometres (two miles) in length over to Flexenpass. For more choices its easy to get down to Lech where additional opportunities include the cinema at the theatre there, and the local museum.
Zürs pobably has a higher percentage of internationally recognised gourmet restaurants than any other resorts, with three listed in the top international guides, the most popular being the Chesa Verde, Hirlanda, Zürserhof and Lorünser.
For a cosy atmosphere Toni's Einkehr provides excellent fondues and Austrian dishes. Italian is served at the Walsersube in the Hotel Alberghaus.
