There are 100km (19 miles) of prepared winter hiking trails and the luxury of a free shuttle bus for hikers to help you get about. You can take a guided snowshoe hike on a less well prepared route or just ride in a sleigh or slide down the 2km (one and a quarter mile) long toboggan run at Gasteig.

Named the Panorama Badewelt indoor swimming pool, it is open from 8.30am to 9pm daily and includes a giant water slide, parent and child pool, outdoor pool (36°C), sauna, steam bath, solarium and tennis hall.

Pizza has made it here however, and you can enjoy one at the Pizzeria Carmela and Giovanni or Pizzeria Marco. The Gasteiger Jagdschlössl offers gourmet meals but has a reputation also for healthy and vegetarian cuisine, using organically grown produce. The Gasthof Zur Mauth is also highly regarded.
