Park City Mountain Resort moved to the top of the snowboarder-friendly league when it hosted the snowboarding events for the 2002 Olympics. The resort only established its snowboarding credentials as recently as the '96 - '97 season when it introduced a floodlit half pipe (dubbed 'PayDay') and terrain park. The pipe has since been upgraded many times, and the resort now boasts a Super pipe on which a host of events are staged. The resort's ski school works in partnership with Burton snowboards to use specially customised boards for kids aged 6 to 14 who want to learn how to 'board. The school also offers 'Quick Carve, a revolutionary new method for skiers making the transition to snowboarding'.
