The annual 'Inferno race' takes place every January and has been going for nearly 70 years now. It involves a 12 km descent down a 2,842 metre vertical through some very tricky black sections. The race times range from about 15 minutes to an hour if you are taking it at a more leisurely pace. There are also some other tough runs around the area and heli-skiing is popular in this cheap ski holiday resort.
