Skiing in Italy
Italy offers an array of skiing possibilities to suit all abilities. Some of the more popular resorts are Sestriere and La Thuile with Sestriere boasting over 400 km of runs with a vertical drop of over 1500 metres.
Snowboarding
Italy offers a great deal as a ski holiday destination to skiers and snowboarders alike. The best snowboard resorts are Prato Nevoso and Madonna di Campiglio. Prato Nevoso plays host to many snowboard competitions and has one of the best board parks in Europe. Italy, in true Italian style, is renowned for it's flamboyance when it comes to snowboarding so has half-pipes and quarter-pipes that will keep you more than happy on your ski holiday in Italy.
Getting there
There are an abundance of airports that service the Alps, the Alpennines and the Dolomites. The main airports are Turin, Milan and Bolzano and several others that are only a two and a half hour flight from London, Manchester, Edinburgh or Liverpool. Once there all the resorts are a maximum of 2 hours from their local airports by train, bus or car.
