Facilities in Morzine

Morzine has a rich variety of alternatives to offer the winter holiday maker. To begin with, outdoors instructors are ready to guide you through climbs on frozen waterfalls, high altitude ski touring with destinations such as Zermatt in Switzerland, winter mountaineering and off-piste skiing. Snow-shoe tours and dog-sledding are also offered, along with marked winter hiking trails (and a specially priced lift pass for walkers) . A paragliding school operates and there's a 20 obstacle fitness circuit for those who need more than just a day on the slopes and a night dancing in the clubs. Torch-lit skiing is organised on Thursdays during much of February and March. Ice sports fans have an Olympic-sized indoor rink where hockey matches and figure skating contests are staged as well as free skating times for visitors and locals alike. There is also a curling rink. The Palais des Congrès conference hall sometimes stages exhibitions, films, shows and concerts. Movies are also shown, more regularly, at the two cinemas Le Colibri and Le Rex.
