Arosa has plenty to do off the slopes. Indoor facilities are offered by the hotels, many of them open to the public. There are five indoor tennis courts, numerous swimming pools, saunas and whirlpools as well as massage services. You will also find billiards, bowling and a cinema. Skating and curling are offered on either outdoor or indoor (the Eissporthalle) rinks.
Up in the air you can take a balloon ride or paraglide down from the peaks on a tandem jump with an instructor. Back on the ground there are 60km (36 miles) of prepared winter walking tracks or you can go on a snowshoe hike, either renting the equipment yourself or participating in an organised hike. You may also take a horse drawn sleigh ride or have fun on one of the village's two toboggan runs. An unusual attraction, not to be missed, is the early morning cable car ascent of the Weisshorn to catch the sunrise.
The Schanfigger museum of local history gives an accurate depiction of life in the valley since the 16th century and stages a regular slide show by local photographer Ruth Licht. Concerts and other winter spectacles are staged throughout the season as well as horse races on snow on lake Obersee.
The season normally gets underway with a Humour Festival in mid-December.
