The majority of St Johann's 40 or so restaurants are of course traditional purveyors of good wholesome Tyrolean and Austrian fayre in cozy and homely surroundings. Establishments such as the Crystal, Villa Masianco, Ambiente at the Hotel Bruckenwirt, the Post (originally built in 1225), Huber - Bräu and Bären are all renowned for their high standards. Lange Mauer, one of the many places to eat on Speckbacherstraße is a Chinese restaurant. Of the three pizzerias the Rialto on Bahnhofstraße runs a salad buffet with numerous pastas, fish dishes and, of course, pizzas. The company also runs a Pizza Express delivery service. Pizzeria Ristorante La Rustica serves original Italian pizza and other food, the owner is from Calabria.
