The emphasis in Serre Chevalier is on home cooking using local ingredients at one with the surrounding natural environment. Each village has its own restaurants and there are almost 100 to choose from in total. At the top end of the scale the Crystal in 1350, the Auberge du Choucas in 1500 and Le Bidule or Marotte in 1400 are all highly regarded. L'Amphore in 1350 has a reputation for Italian food and grills and the Kandahar is also popular for its pizza. At 1400 the Noctambule is good for alpine food like raclette and, in Monetier, the Alliey is a popular mid-range restaurant.
