Obviously for the greatest choice and the highest calibre cuisine you must head for 1850. Here the choice includes Italian, Chinese and some of the more unusual choices in the Alps. The two most famous gastronomical meccas are Le Chabichou and Le Bateau Ivre. Courchevel is the only resort in Europe to have two gastronomical restaurants mentioned in guide books. Traditional Savoyard fayre in rustic surroundings is served at La Chapelle, La Fromagerie and Le Genépi amongst others. For Italian food try La Cendrée or La via Ferrata and for seafood Le Tremplin. La Bergerie stages a Russian Party evening every Friday complete with Russian orchestra. 1650 and 1550 have half a dozen establishments, mostly serving Savoyard or Italian cuisine. In Le Praz try the Bistrot du Praz or La table de mon grand-pere for delicious Savoyard specialities and the Crêperie Kinou for wonderful crêpes, tartiflette and blueberry pie.
